Wow. Snowing, AND blowing at gusts of 70km, -13 (-25 with the wind) almost white out conditions and STILL the schools arent closed today?
Except for my son’s preschool. The YMCA director - who is also a teacher at the preschool, got stuck, so she just called to say there is no preschool, but everwhere else is open as usual.
Sure takes a lot for Chilliwack to shut down schools. Probably because the majority of the Wack is in the valley and therfore flat.
I still would like to get together a Spiral Scouts in the area at some point in time. I started on it some time ago, and got put off by the lack of contact and lack of action behind the scenes. I was waiting for paper work re: criminal checks etc and 8 weeks later, nothing had been sent out. Huge back log of stuff… I ended up losing interest. Now the kids are growing and actually at the age where it could be doable.
I wonder if things have picked up with them in the Canadian branch.

Very proud of myself. I hauled the little ones out into the cold and shoveled the patio stairs, the front walk and the driveway. I figured the least I could do, seeing as how my husband is working his butt off while I stay at home comfy and warm, was to shovel the driveway enough so that he could get in it :)
The snow came up to the top of my little ones’ legs, but shoveled paths for them in the snow so that they could play a bit. They lasted out there longer than I thought they would. Defnitely won’t be making it to preschool again tomorrow. It’s about a 20 minute walk WITH the stoller in good weather. About a 45 minute walk without the stroller, in GOOD weather, and in this snow? uh…. definitely not worth it for 2.5 hours at school.
So, it will be another day of Dora, Thomas the Tank Engine, Cars2, and of course crayons, playdough (which my youngest eats as MUCH of as he possibly can when I’m not looking) and lots of coffee for me!
My son’s car. (it’s not insured anyhow, so he doesn’t need to dig it out) It’s a 89 civic, so not a large car, but regardless you can get the idea of the amount of snow we’ve had in the past 24-36 hours
